Pluto in Hindsight

Since its discovery, 67 years ago at the time of writing, Pluto has moved only through a third of its orbit. Its associations with death and destruction, followed by rebirth, have had the benefit of astrological testing through only five signs of the zodiac.
For those who are not familiar with how newly discovered planets acquire an astrological meaning, a common explanation is that the emergence into our consciousness of a new planet resonates with the issues of the day. The themes of those times, especially on a collective level, as for example in social and political life, reflect and contain the meaning of the newly discovered planet.

Israel Withdraws from Lebanon

I have long found it fascinating how the energies of the planets are played out on the world stage for all of us to witness. In the World section in today’s Age newspaper (24th May 2000, page 16) the headline reads: “Israel scrambles to get out of Lebanon”.
The article goes on to report how the Israeli forces are withdrawing from an area they have occupied for 22 years, as they rush to comply with a July 7 deadline. As fast as they are withdrawing, the Hezbollah guerillas are sweeping into villages laying claim to disputed Lebanese land. Caught off guard……..
