Astrology is the study of the correlation between the movements of the stars and the planets and life on earth. This is not to suggest that the movements of the stars and planets causes events to happen on earth, but that both the heavens and earth dance to the rhythm of an ‘unknown drummer’.

Because life is complex, we can divide it into broad components, and apply astrological principles to each component. Below are some of the main branches of astrological study.

Natal Astrology – personal and relationship astrology
Natal astrology uses a personal horoscope calculated from your time date and place of birth to interpret your personality strengths and weaknesses, your special attributes and the times in your life when specific events and changes are likely to occur. While much of this interpretation is dependent on an accurate time of birth, an extraordinary amount of information can be distilled using only your date and place of birth.

Political Astrology – called ‘Mundane Astrology’
Political or mundane astrology deals with matters of state, the fate and influence of politicians and heads of state, royal families and dynasties, national and international events and relationships, and cycles of war and peace.

Financial Astrology – relating to business and the share markets
Financial astrology deals business and the marketplace in general. Although it is really a sub-section of mundane astrology, it is a study in its own right.
There are 2 types of financial astrologers: those who provide advice to business managers, and those who use astrology to forecast trends on the stock market.

Horary Astrology – used to provide specific answers to any question, does not need a birth time
Frequently people are very concerned to know the answer to one specific question. Horary astrology provides clear and specific answers to any question. There are a number of benefits to using this form of astrology: it is generally cheaper as only one question is studied by the astrologer; it provides a specific answer to any important question; and no accurate birth time is needed.Astrology is very useful in clarifying those personality traits which contradict and oppose each other, and which also contribute to both stress and success. When these contradictory forces are properly understood, a heightened awareness and acceptance of life can develop. This branch of astrology is called
Mundane Astrology is the astrology of world developments, cultural trends, and current affairs. This is the astrology of the big picture.
